The Dutch Shepherd Club of Canada is an non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and responsible ownership of Dutch Shepherds across the country. Our club focuses on breed advocacy, education, and community engagement. We strive to uphold the breed standard, support ethical breeding practices, and foster a network of Dutch Shepherd enthusiasts who share a passion for these remarkable dogs.

Code of Ethics

As the Dutch Shepherd Club of Canada we set forth to only support ethical breeding, raising and housing of our breed. We believe and support in humane sport and competition to benefit the minds of our intelligent active dogs. We believe in upholding our conduct to the highest respectable standard as we work towards our specific goals with this club.

1.Indiscriminate breeding will be discouraged. The welfare of the bitch, and the quality, health and long-term prospects of any puppies bred will be paramount. I will not knowingly sell any puppy to a dealer, broker or pet store.
 2. Stock that has, or may carry serious hereditary faults, will be excluded from my breeding program.
3. As an exhibitor in a spirit of friendship and goodwill, I will applaud and appreciate others success. I will welcome and assist newcomers to the sport of exhibiting pure bred Dutch Shepherds.
4. All sales of dogs as companion animals will be subject to the provisions of CKC Non Breeding Agreements in addition to the conditions included in my own kennel’s Sales Agreement.
5. I the breeder have the right to refuse sale of my stock to anyone I deem an unfit place for one of my Dutch Shepherds at any time for any reason.
